What Does It Look Like To Show Up For Yourself?

An exploration of self expression.

Making time for myself to execute my God-given ideas. I've been known to prioritize helping others execute ideas to the detriment of my own. Then I end up unfulfilled, and that leads to me not doing my best work for others.

It can be a vicious cycle.

Kendra Harris : When do you feel the most confident? Any tips you have that help with confidence?

Danshelle Jones: When I'm in an amazing outfit! I just feel like I'm that girl when I'm put together. My advice for those who want to feel more confident is to figure out your best features and highlight them.

Love your lips? Wear fun lipstick to show them off. Love your legs? Toss on a pair of heels or something high-waisted to make them look even longer.

Nothing is unwearable as long as you wear it with confidence.

KH: How do you empower yourself and other women around you?

DJ: I like to compliment myself (even if I don't necessarily feel 100%) and others around me. A genuine compliment from a person people admire can change the trajectory of someone's day.

KH : What's your secret sauce? What makes you, you?

DJ: I really can't take any credit. God made me this way, I stand out like a sore thumb even when l attempt to blend in so, I’ve resolved to just shine brightly and not worry about whether the people around me have sunglasses.
